Indeed Martin! Today is also INTERNATIONAL DAY OF RURAL WOMEN.The The first International Day of Rural Women was observed on 15 October 2008. This new international day recognizes “the critical role and contribution of rural women, including indigenous women, in enhancing agricultural and rural development, improving food security and eradicating rural poverty.”
Let us remember and celebrate all those women today.
I liked what the Ordo had to say today about Teresa of Avila: “A contemplative, a woman of action and practical”. All these attributes are still relevant today. So a big “thank you” to all those women I know who continue to bring their contemplative, practical stance to our world.
