Brighter Futures Exhibition

This summer, Edmund Rice Development brings Edmund Rice missions of Africa, South America and India to Ireland through our ‘Brighter Futures’ Exhibition.

In 2013 we commissioned a project to gather and collate images and video footage from the developing world ministries of Christian Brother and Edmund Rice communities. The project aimed to record, through video and photography, the impact the missions make in the developing world ministries today. Images and video footage were collated from Kenya, Zambia, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Peru, Bolivia and India and a selection of these images is now on display in the ‘Brighter Futures’ Exhibition.

First stop for the exhibition is the Emmaus Retreat Centre in Swords – an Edmund Rice retreat and conferencing centre in the outskirt of Dublin. There the striking images will welcome guests in the North and South Wings over the summer months.

These beautiful photos give a sense of the lives of the people living in the poorest communities in the developing world. Through the exhibition, we hope to raise awareness of different realities and cultures, and tell the stories of solidarity within the Edmund Rice Network.

The exhibition is available to travel to other venues and events throughout the year. If you wish to find out more.

The project was completed with the generous support of Misean Cara, the funding agency of Irish missionary organisations working in developing countries.

Edmund Rice Development Media Library of visually impactful images and videos is fully compliant with the Irish Dóchas Code on Media and Messages.
