Embrace, now in its second year, is a Catholic youth conference aimed at young people, held in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King, Liverpool. It is a day-long celebration of faith: the day is filled with key-note talks and workshops; times of prayer and adoration; times of praise and worship; a time for confessions. All of this will cumulate in mass at the end of the day celebrated by Archbishop Malcolm and a number of Bishops and Priests from across the Archdiocese. A range of communities, charities and religious orders will also be present, exhibiting the many networks and riches of the Church.
This year’s conference takes place on Saturday 21st November which is the National Youth weekend and the Feast of Christ the King. Our theme this year is “Build My Kingdom!” The conference is aimed for 16-30 year olds however all ages are welcome. Speakers include David Wells, Fr Frankie Mulgrew, Frank Cottrell-Boyce, the Franciscan Sisters of the renewal, Living Joyfully Vocations and the Knights of St Columba to new but a few. The conference programme and description of the workshops can be found on our website, http://www.embrace-liverpool.org.uk.
Embrace 2014 was a resounding success: the cathedral was filled with over a thousand young people from across Liverpool and the North West. The young people were really positive in their feedback, explaining that they had received a lot from the day and had left with their faith strengthened and renewed. Our hope this year is to reach even more hearts for the Lord by providing an inspiring day where your students can learn more about their faith and deepen their relationship with Jesus, who brings all meaning to our lives.
