Edmund Rice Alive Today

May is the month in which we celebrate, in a special way, the life, work, spirit and charism of Blessed Edmund Rice. To mark this Timirí will hold an event in the birthplace of Blessed Edmund Rice in Westcourt, Callan, Co. Kilkenny on Saturday, 18th May from 2pm to 5pm.

The theme for the afternoon is “Edmund Rice Alive today”  and will explore how the spirit of Edmund continues to inspire the work of so many who deal with such issues as homelessness, addiction, refugees and immigrants, advocacy for the marginalised and vulnerable, and who empower young people through alternative education opportunities.

Following the welcome and cuppa at 2pm the afternoon will involve input from our guest speakers: Cormac Mac Art from the Westcourt Centre in Belfast, Don O’ Leary from Cork Life Centre and Brothers Gerard Buzolic and Michael Dredge of the Oceania Province who are based in Mount Sion Waterford.

The afternoon will continue with reflection, discussion, discernment, ritual and action. The evening will conclude with high tea.

All are welcome to attend and we would love to meet you there. Please confirm attendance by email, text or phone call to Dick Fields – dfields17@hotmail.com or 0876322746
